The British Council's art collection is now online (or at least, its database featuring images of most of the works). Here's a monkey. The Council runs hundreds of cultural projects all over the world.
I'd always got the impression from the British Council's efforts here that they veered between the painfully trendy and the ploddingly worthy in the cultural efforts they back, but there's quite a lot of nice stuff in here on a cursory browse. Thanks Plegmund.
Sadly no preview image of their recent acquisition Winking Nipples though.
