Grow (shockwave, via blort)
  • a fun doodad that's been sweeping the intraweb the past couple of days. i was hoping the site had others like it, but sadly, no.
  • 9500 is my best score so far.
  • 9300 on my first go - is there any logic to it, or is it just trial and error?
  • 3500 on my next go - and yeah, I'm starting to see the logic: grow the fan before placing the tornado, etc
  • 11,000+, but I think I exploited a bug in doing so.
  • I went from 5300 to 3100, and then it booed and jeered and rubbed my face in the snow.
  • Does the robot go down for you? Does a flower grow in your lake? 20,000 wonders!
  • After much (much) too long playing with it, I got everything maxed out in one go. There are a ton of neat things about it (did anyone else get the volcano?). There is a definite logic (though you need to figure it out through a few rounds of trial and error first); you need to work backwards from the things that take the most levels to the things that take the least. For instance, it takes 0 "grows" to max out the TV and only 1 grow to max out the rocket booster, so you place those last (but not in that order). If that makes sense. Things like this really make me wish they had documentation. I'd love to know what I was missing.
  • Ran through it again a couple times, so for those of you interested in the perfect (? can anyone beat 20,000?) game, the full spoiler: robot, sun, egg, mountain, ladder, pipe, fan, tornado, cog, dish, rocket, screen. For what it's worth. The only thing I could find that didn't happen in this run through is if you let the fan level up before the pipe spits the clouds out, the mountain becomes a volcano. I'm sure I'm missing a lot of neat anamolies, though --
  • I did find the complete answer but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who wants to figure it out on their own. But drop by Waxy if you want to see the rubik's cube completely unlocked. And knowing is half the battle.
