When your freight's destroyed, and it don't look good, who you gonna call? Country & McDaniel! Their business is shipping disasters. Neat gallery of foulups, like the Sealand grounding nightmare, an Iraq missile hit on an Airbus freighter, the worst pothole in the world, and what happens with there's a fire on the fireworks freighter. [Bad web design alert -- their huge menus are top-posted on all the pages and you have to scroll past them to get to the content]
• Here in Portland we've been dealing with one of these issues for a few days now - a major freeway intersection has been completely blocked since wednesday when a 80 ton wind turbine fell off a truckbed in the i205 tunnel. I don't live in the area, but traffic around there has been a clusterfuck for the past few days as a result of it.
• Terrible web design, awesome content. I particularily love the one with 49 million dollars' worth of cars at the bottom of the ocean. Nice.
• Great find, rolypolyman!!
• You can use italics in post titles now?
• foo worked for me.
• A compendium of disasters -- fascinating, sometimes funny, and awesome because of the scope and magnitude of these events. )))!!!.
• I sent this on to various friends who are interested in this sort of thing. They loved it. (what does this say about me that I have that many friends who are into disasters and destruction?) Have a flaming exploding banana, RPM.
