What Can You Say About Art Covered Manhole Covers?
  • I can say Neato! Cool link.
  • I kinda dig this one. But I must admit, I got sidetracked to some of the other galleries over there. Interesting to note the comments on the "ganguros." Female vs. Male Nice find Mr. Knickerbocker!!
  • I can say that it sounds kind of dirty, when you think about it, and when the link has the following quote: If you find any new manholes on your travels, please feel free to send me photographs. I laugh like a moron. Awesome link, Mr. K. Good stuff.
  • I'd use one of those to cover my manhole any day! ((((
  • I can't quite decide if the Japanese are simply brilliant, or if they're singularly afflicted with infantilism
  • There are a couple other websites like this such as Drainspotting and Norwegian manhole covers. I had a prof in my Masters program who had taken tons of pictures of manhole covers on his trip to Japan. He's dead now.
  • These are a great idea, and some of them are beautiful. Love it!!!
  • I can't quite decide if the Japanese are simply brilliant, or if they're singularly afflicted with infantilism... I think it's more like a compulsion to turn anything, no matter how utilitarian, into a work of art. I've studied and collected netsuke for years, and I am fascinated with the variety and workmanship of these little widgets.
  • Great link, and nice Larry Niven reference, by the way.
  • )))!!! So purty! .. but draining to look at so many.
  • see also Thumbs up for niven reference.
  • I had a prof in my Masters program who had taken tons of pictures of manhole covers on his trip to Japan. He's dead now. Wait...correlation does or does not imply causation??
  • I'm glad people caught the Niven reference. Didn't seem like they would at first. I had a prof in my Masters program who had taken tons of pictures of manhole covers on his trip to Japan. He's dead now. *pulls my AC/DC t-shirt over my head* Are you threatening me?
