Curious, George I need a name for a dessert-only restaurant.

I am trying to open a very small eating establishment that would serve exclusively desserts. It will be in the downtown area within walking distance of many restaurants. The idea would be to be a place to go after dining elsewhere, or just to go for a dessert.

  • Just Desserts. It's been done, but it had to be said.
  • "Just Desserts"
  • Dessert-only restaurants here are called Death by Chocolate, Strawberry Fare, and Sweethearts. I'm not original enough to come up with my own.
  • Sweetness and Light. NOT lite. Arrgh.
  • Happy Endings.
  • A Little Taste of Heaven. Nectar and Ambrosia. Forbidden Fruit. Just Try Not To. Tempt Me. Sticky Fingers. I Really Shouldn't. Seventh Heaven. Sweet Mystery.
  • Owl Semen and Chocolate.
  • Richesse. Creme de la Creme. Douceur.
  • Sweet Somethings. Sweet Nothings. Islander's Gross.
  • Chocolat!

  • "You'll Ruin Your Appetite" (suggestion thanks to all the moms of the world)
  • Crunchy Frog?
  • My suggestion is to try to come up with something that isn't dessert- or sweet-related but has assocaitions for the locals. Too many new eateries of all kinds try to come up with a funny/fancy/clever names related to what they are hawking and rarely do they succeed. How about something that relates to your state such as The Honey Bee? Good luck!
  • Calories! Actually that restaurant does exist here in MontrĂ©al.
  • Butter in my ass, lollipops in my mouth
  • You Take the Cake Just One More
  • How about something that relates to your state such as The Honey Bee . . . or The Tobacco Smile?

  • I had the idea of changing a company's name every day and hangiing a new sign, with all these suggestions you should go for that.
  • Redemption (Because you pay for your sins.)
  • We have a place here that sells only cupcakes. They called it, well, Cupcakes. And damn good they are, too.
  • I am a bit overwhelmed. I just got roped into going to see "Fever Pitch" at the last moment (at least it was a dollar theatre), and I get to return to a hundred or so suggestions. I should add that the winning entry will receive a copy of the DVD for "Fever Pitch." I don't want to get in the way of the idea-athon, but I will add that the location would be a street called Princess Place.
  • Lick Me!
  • Princess Place? Now you tell us?
  • Sweets to Di For A Cannoli in the Wind
  • The winner gets a copy of "Fever Pitch". Does second place get forced to watch it Clockwork style?
  • Screw the Vegetables, Here's Dessert I Can Have 'Zert Now? Eat Your Chocolate or you Won't Get Any Candy The SugarShack Hansel and Gretel's Lolipop Lane Sweet Cup'n'Cakes (The Homestarrunner.com people might not like that one) Sugarplumbs
  • God Hates The Skinny
  • I like islander's "Sweet Hereafter".
  • mmmmmmmpphh!
  • Just desserts? I suppose you'd take your woman to Mcdonalds too! When in Toronto (Canada)"Future Bakery" it's Ukrainine, but that's O.K. When in Mississauga, La Semme it's run by Italians.
  • Sugar Princess Sugar and Spice
  • The Plump Princess hey, you could do an endorsement deal with Fergie The Princess of Whales Her Majesty's Noshing Shop
  • Actually, best dessert place in Toronto is that ice-cream place - But I'm totally blanking on the name - Demetrie's? Future bakery is okay - good bread, good potatoes, but I would never go there for a fancy dessert. And I say that as someone who ate there at least once a week for several years.
  • My fiance has informed me that her leading candidate thus far is Goodnight Spoon. She also liked Afters and Fat Ass. I really enjoyed Intentional Tortes, but I think that may be lost on most people. Don't head to that theatre to see "Fever Pitch," moneyjane. You may be on your way to a free copy. Of course, with your secrecy and all, I will probably have to send it through a harmless third-party like Chyren or Quid for you to safely receive it.
  • Extraordinary Desserts The best desserts in San Diego. And yes, I have tried them all.

  • Col. Crookshank's Super Terrific Magic Dancing Ferret Pie Shoppe
  • Sticky Fingers Exile on Sweet Street Their Delicious Majesties Request
  • Da Shit!
  • Seeing "Just Desserts" as the first option in the thread is weird for me, as there was a famous murder in Toronto about, oh, 10 years ago where a woman was accidentally gunned down at a Just Desserts shop. Since the case was forevermore referred to as the "Just Desserts murder", um, I have bad associations. The Sweet Hereafter is a good one, and, Canadian movie connection! Hmm, after all that, can't think of anything creative myself. Will ponder.
  • Le Fin.
  • Sweet Emotion (I always hear the Aerosmith song as "sweet emulsion," and think of creme anglaise) Coup de gras In Conclusion
  • Denouement That's my favorite, but may be too subtle for the masses.
  • You Gunna Eat That...
  • Assuming you are in the U.S. I think that "Afters" is great (although quite pedestrian by UK standards). I'd suggest spicing it up a bit: "Ever Afters" or "Happily Ever Afters" (too long?)
  • ". . . you could drink whole if you wanted to"
  • Desires. or, The House of Good.
  • Eat Me.
  • Creme Anglais is a french joke. It means implies the english have one dessert sauce (custard).
