carfilhiot, that's what I thought at first too, but this is different. It's an annual competition. From the link:
"Awarding the $10,000,000 ANSARI XPRIZE is not the end, but the beginning of an annual event called the X PRIZE CUP."
There's a list of competition categories near the bottom of the page. I was hoping for something like the Gumball 3000, but with spaceships. This is still cool though. Thanks sexyrobot!
