Even in an age that gave birth to the automobile and aeroplane, a functioning mechanical man should have been accorded more significance.
The "Boilerplate" robot made me think immediately of Tik-Tok of Oz! Wonder if L. Frank Baum or his illustrator ever saw that picture.
