The big bugger had been hit by a truck and had instantly frozen by the side of the road, so the local hunter/gamekeeper/butcher went up there and butchered the unmangled bits. Tastiest meat I've ever had. Damn damn damn good. I was on Elk Tartare for a week. Destroyed the truck, too: Elk, if you've never seen one, are about a gazillion feet high and weigh a megaton. If you hit one with your car, you will die. They derail trains. Huge tasty bastards, Elk.
