Curious, George: DVD Burning I need help completing my DVD pirating process. So, I decided to ask the smartest group of people I know. Ironic that these smart people are monkeys, ain't it?
  • I've ripped the DVD with Mac the Ripper, I can decode it into mpeg4 files with OpenShiiva, but how do I burn it back to DVD? The main problem I encounter is that I am left with around 7 GB of info, but a burnable DVD is only 4.7 GB big. Any suggestions?
  • Dvd2One/
  • whoops... Dvd2One
  • Similarly for PC users, there's DVDShrink.
  • sweet. thanks!
  • the volume comes out a little low, if anyone has thoughts on that
  • check out VideoHelp.com, they have tons of guides for every facet of the dvd creation & backup process. personally, my process is SmartRipper (or DVD Decrypter) to rip, DVD Shrink to cut out fat and transcode, IFO Edit to remove user prohibitions, and Nero to burn. for single-layer discs, DVD Decrypter in ISO mode, from rip to burn.
  • Dual layer disc? That would solve the size issue. Of course that would also make your ripped DVD cost about the same as a retail disc.
