Cats and Witnesses
It's not just yoga that's not a good idea, anymore.

Good grief ... Mrs Dotcom's grandmother is 93 ... and she needs the sort of care you would expect a frail 93 year old to need. All of her children, except Mrs Dotcom's mother, are Witnesses ... so guess what comes first when faced with the choice between going out and recruiting members and looking after their mother ... Yup: recruiting members ... so Mrs Dotcom and her mother get to do nearly all the elderly parent care ... Two of Mrs Dotcom's cousins have left the faith so now their mother is banned from speaking to them ... Beggars belief

Sorry? You mean this isn't a spoof? I mean, take this paragraph:That's a clear parody of twisted logic, and non-sequitur. Surely? Anyone? Please? Please?
-
I wouldn't bet on it.
-
vocal and blatant promiscuity (unknown to any other species, all others being endowed with Godly chastity and decorum) um ........ what?? Please tell me this is satire.
-
HA HA HA....lol...that's so stupid.

In fact, was it not lions of the first century who the Devil used to devour faithful Christians? Jehovah Himself 'stopped up the mouths of the lions' (Dan. 6:22) in Daniel's day. True, the small housecats of today are not quite lions, but being of the same accursed animal family used by God's enemies on numerous occasions throughout history, would it be wise or prudent to own one? Can't stop the laughing. In fact, if I needed another reason to love all cats, this would be it. On the minus side, I hope this doesn't encourage the children of Witnesses (who must be screwed-up enough as it is) to make cats targets of cruelty. True the post specifies an attitude toward cats of no malicious intent, only Godly hatred. But any religion whose vocabulary can include the phrase "Godly hatred" is automatically suspect to me. And, Koko, sadly I don't think this is satire... fundamentalists have no sense of humour, and Witnesses are the most po-faced of the lot.

We are talking about the "Jehovah's Witness" here, which some Christians view as a cult than Church. One reason is because part of their belief system is a chosen # of people make it to heaven, only that #. The number they came up with is based out of a passage in Revelations iirc. So reading this about cats seems par for their course which was something they did naturally. As a Christian, I view all animals being created by God and not associating with them would be to unassociated myself with Him. This view about cats is sad here especially since they served a purpose during Harold

ack I scewed up the above post, ignore it. We are talking about the "Jehovah's Witness" here, which some Christians view as a cult than Church. Also, how can you Witness if you don't associate with All?

"We are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from God and his theocratic organization..." Oh poor, Witnesses. They are not quite yet allowed to stone their relations to death since we heathens have chosen non-theocratic forms of rational government. I regret tossing such a broad blanket on this issue but religion terrifies me at times.
-
Understandable. Stuff like this makes it easy for me to see why so many atheists want to scrub religion from the face of the earth.
-
I mean, I knew the Witnesses were wacked, but I was hoping this was a spoof site or something ... then I looked further and saw that it's legit. What a bunch of nutbags.
-
I know a Witness who owns a cat. I know another that has birthday parties, although she isn't a Witness anymore. Perhaps she doesn't count. My guess, they aren't *good* witnesses.
-
Thomcatspike, I'm glad to hear your views on animals. Do you have any? And guys, just because some people (eg the wackjob who posted this anti-cat screed) use their religion in the service of hatred, doesn't make religion an overall Bad Thing. That would be like saying that forks are evil just because some idiots use them to stab people in the eye. It's what you make of it that counts. (full disclosure: I'm an agnostic Witch)

Meow! Just meow!

Everything that article says is true. It's TRUE, I say. Vile nasty little butt-lickers. I went and read this to the two infidels that live here. They ignored me completely and refused to repent. All they cared about was their Friskies. HELL-SPAWN!

These 'tards can bite me. Where cat is...IS civilization.

A faithful servant of Jehovah would quickly notice that the nature of a cat is so marked as being 'beastly'. Ok, so anything with "beastly natures" is out. Dogs? Out. Budgies? Out. Snakes? Don't even go there.... Oh! Babies? They have "beastly natures". They don't know right from wrong, are only concerned with their own welfare, and will put anything in their mouths. I say we go for the "go into orbit and nuke 'em" thing.
