Everything you ever wanted to know about viking funerals. But why let the vikings have all the fun? You too can hold a viking funeral to honor your departed family and friends. Or, if there's no brave departed warrior available, you can substitute loyal inanimate objects. And may I also suggest some thematically appropriate music for the event?
Last link goes to what I would describe as "viking metal." I'm on a technologically impaired machine right now so I can't check the links to stream the music so I apologize if they do not work.
OOOOOOOOOOOODDDDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!
ever since i saw this movie i wanted a viking funeral. i sort of had one for my rat a few years ago. we built a small raft, strapped him to it and sent him down the ramapo river. didn't set him ablaze though. too many dry leaves around.
Me too goddam! I've been talking about that movie and how awesome viking funerals are for years.
Oh, children, you need to see this movie to appreciate a Viking funeral.
imagining Tony Curtis as a Viking hurts my head. A lot.
Or this movie.
My ancestors were lousy vikings
I ♥ schadenfreude.
Some photos from Up Helly Aa on the Shetland Tourist board's site. Great fiddle playing up there too, must make the trip some day.
Put me down for a viking funeral as well for when and if i die.
Do you still tear up at the funeral scene in Wrath of Khan? Now you, too, can have a Star Trek funeral.
Sorta reminds me of this comment.
Oh, well, I can see where you could get the impression that maybe one might be slightly reminiscent of the other.
GAH!!
