The Italian Campaign The Globe and Mail has been running an excellent series on the Italian Campaign during WWII by Canadian troops. There are photos, artifacts, and articles, including one by Farley Mowat. (x-posted to MeFi)

  • And another (didn't want to clog the front page): WWI veterans. In 2002 the Globe and Mail found 16 veterans of WWI who told (or didn't, as some preferred) their stories of their time in WWI. As the youngest of these veterans was 102 at the time, and many had lied about their age to be able to enlist, these memories will soon be lost without such recordings.
