New Year, what new year?

Seen, Illusorily on MeFi non-simultaneously (...don't hit me)

Hmm, an entire article on Bergson and "cinematic" perception that doesn't mention Deleuze once.

*sniffs*

If you found the article interesting, it might be worth giving Deleuze's Cinema 1: The Movement-Image and Cinema 2: The Time-Image a spin.

Trés bon, Gyan!

This article really makes me go ooh aah aah! It nearly confirms my suspicions about the nature of consciousness. As much as I consider Greg Egan one of my favorites SF authors I think that most of his views about the mind are wrong preciselly because he assumes that consciousness is a continuous process. But that gives rise to a handful of hard paradoxes for which most of his solutions are not quite good.

Actually, all this reminds me of something I read long ago about Zeno's paradoxes. Hmm... let me find it... there!

My point is that Zeno was actually onto something and really there can't be a continuous reality at all since continuity in all his aspects is full of unsolvable paradoxes. Most of them still unimagined.

Ok, now I'm really going overboard with all this. I'll shut down my wandering mind now...

BTW, I'll follow your recomendations Wolof.

Um, I'm not sure if it's the same article anymore.
