"This land will surely vote for me!"
  • Amusing puppets. Art mimics reality and back again. We're gonna coke on our blood laughing.
  • coke = choke been up for 18 hours now. better go back to bed. aaah pentrexil...
  • Very funny!
  • I'm pretty sure this is a double post.
  • I love the message- Bush and Kerry are both jerks, so it doesnt matter who we vote for. That's SO original and SO true. Just like in 2000, when Nader told us how Gore and Bush were both the same... I'm sure Gore would be doing the EXACT same things as Bush right now.
  • I don't think Gore would be quite as heavyhanded as Bush, and in any case, is not motivated by the neocon Straussian philosophy as Bush is. Surely Gore would not have attacked Iraq, since, as we know, Bush et al had been planning to do so for a long time and used terrorist attacks as a pretext for the invasion, and it was not something on the Democrat agenda. He may well have invaded Afghanistan. But then again, if Gore had President, his administration may not have ignored the warnings of impending attack in the first place, and may even have stopped the 9-11 atrocities. The Bush Administration's abysmal incompetence played a large part in facilitating the security fiasco of 9-11.
  • I think you're right in saying Gore wouldn't have attacked Iraq, but I sincerely doubt he would have stopped the attacks, if the Clinton administration's record on anti-terrorism means anything. Anyhow, I think drjimmy was being sarcastic. And if this is a double post, I apologize. I ran a couple keyword and URL searches and nothing came up.
  • You might want to take a reality check de Carabas. Or read the issue of Time that detailed the way in which the outgoing Clinton admin provided Condolezza Rice with a huge amount of information on al-Qaeda and plans to undermine them. The Bush administration chose to ignore a huge amount of information and ongoing plans to attack al-Qaeda in favour of pre-9/11 plans for attacks on Iraq, pushing for a program of tax custs for the wealthy, and spreading lies about vandalism of the White House. Gore might have made an incompetant President, but it seems unlikely he would have ignored evidence of the danger posed on ideological grounds. Not that the Clinton administration can win on that issue, of course, since when they attempted to act against al-Qaeda they were accused of waghging the dog...
  • Yes, Clinton was accused of wagging the dog, and it was ridiculous, but his attempts to actually do anything were also pretty pathetic. If what you're saying is true, did Clinton and Gore think the issue was so unimportant that they'd fob it off on the next administration? Could anyone in the executive position possibly get the FBI and CIA to connect the dots and act on them? Why didn't Clinton and Gore prevent the first WTC attack in 1993? Why didn't they take Sudan up on its offer to hand bin Laden over? I'm not saying Dubya made any sort of effort before 9/11, because he didn't, and he's pathetic in that regard too and deserves much of the blame. But I really don't see the attacks being prevented if Gore was president. Can't we agree that both administrations did a really crappy on terrorism before Sept. 11? I don't see this as a Democrats vs. Republican issue, I see this as the public having reasonable expectations about national defense and two consecutive presidents failing miserably to meet those expectations.
  • Eh...I meant "crappy job on terrorism" in that last paragraph. Time to sleep...
  • Clinton did more to stop terrorism than just about any American president, I'd say.
  • They all seem to end up 'bombing the unpronounceables' one way or another. Wasn't Bush supposed to be against foreign entanglements, while Gore was in favour of engagement (during the campaign last time round)? But I obviously get my knowledge of American politics from British cartoon strips, so what do I know?
  • i love that video! it's so well done! is anyone familiar with the creators? we should make them honorary monkeys.
  • But dng, we're talking about brown people, here! There's no such thing as white terrorism. /Coulter
  • ewww! shawnj farted! Oh, no he just referenced the thing.
  • That's SO original and SO true. Are you being sarcastic, drjimmy? Am I the only one on the internet would thought this was stupid and boring? Don't mean to take you down de Carabas - it would have got posted eventually. I received this via email at the exact same moment as a random co-worker (could hear his computer playing it). And now it's posted here. Internet-meme saturation time: 12 hours, at least to me. Impressive. Bush is dumb, Kerry is rich and talks about his vet status. I get it. Can we vote already now? (Just my 2 cents, after all, look at my governor)
  • Who would pay $3.00 to download one cartoon?
