The nature of Monkey was irrepressible!
The greatest TV show ever, obviously, for little boys, in the 80's.
-
Even for some slightly older boys! Wu Ch'
-
And he knew Kung Fu! Now that LOTR has proven that you can bring any story to life, I wish someone would make a proper movie of Journey to the West.
-
Ye know, 'tain't every lad gets a testosterone tie for Christmans...
-
Oops and diddley-damn! For Christmans please read Christmas.
-
Well, that was hella lateral. Unless Beeswacky was posting in the rong thread, that is.
-
The nature of Monkey tends to mischief, alas! The crazed beeswacky meant the fripping laterals to go into the "Your Tie Makles Me Sick" -- and I couldn't imagine where things were going -- but they're funnier here. Apologies to all.
-
*slinks back in quietly* As partial amends for the derail, guys, Journey to the West and other Chinese comics.
-
And by the way, your tie makles me sick.
-
Some have very strange choleras, Wolof -- I rather fancy the Cholera in Remission, #2009, meself.
-
My favorite cholera is blue.
-
Good links on both the TV show and the Chinese classic in this MeFi thread.
-
I should have searched metafilter before I posted (I could have stolen their links and pretended they were mine, maybe. I'm going to be reading them all evening, now). Thanks, languagehat. I've got loads of old Super Nintendo games based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms - ignorant philistine that I am, I never realised they were based on actual Chinese myths or literature or whatever.
-
The bigger philistine that I am, I original thought the tv show they were talking about was this.
-
"makles" Lo and bee holded...I have been typing thsi badly for at least two years. O fumbly fingers, bee-gone!
-
Ah, Bees, only YOUR typos could make me sigh with happiness
-
*hap-bee!*

Stephen Chow goes on a predictably insane Journey to the West
