Breaking News This just in. Ronald Reagan is still dead.
  • Thanks for that.
  • Is he still dead now?
  • Are ya sure? Maybe we should dig him up and check? Or at least dig him up and put something funny in the casket. For future "Is Ronald Raegan Still Dead?" questioners.
  • How about now? Is he still dead now?
  • I'll check back later, I gots to know.
  • This just in: Ronald Reagain is manned and ready. Err, only about a year late.
  • of course he's dead. he's a zombie now, right?
  • Yes, Franco is still dead. And so is Chevy Chase's career. (Which I said before at this or another site.) And which I think we should all think about before attempting to bring this joke back from the dead. And Andy Kaufman is still dead. And the guy who's been doing Kaufman's character Tony Clifton: It's Elvis.
  • He's been a zombie for years now, what's new?
  • Actually, Ronnie might have liked funny stuff buried with him. I don't think Nancy would. Did anyone else get creeped out by she many times she was shown touching his coffin? I'm sure that she was really distressed by his death, but didn't he really die some years ago when he couldn't respond to normal stimuli? When my father died, after about 8 years of being bed-ridden, though relatively alert, we didn't celebrate, but we didn't try to take over his death with Victorian drama, either. Well, maybe I'm just a nabob of negativity.
  • Wait a second...Ronald Reagan died?
  • "Well, maybe I'm just a nabob of negativity." Nope, you're the Margrave of Melancholy.
  • I'm trying to be a nabob of neutrality, myself.
  • HOLY SHIT!
  • I'm a neighbor of nabobs. And yes, Reagan is a zombie now and he wants brainssssss. But you still have to call him, "sir".
  • It was funny the first time. The second time ... not so funny. Just call me the Sultan of Shenanigans.
  • I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next guy who says, "Shenanigans."
  • Does that include when you just said "Shenanigans"? Fun to type. Shenanigans. If I'm not careful my fingers type Shania. She's hot. What was this thread about again?
  • Shennnnnanigans. Say it loud, and there's Muzak™ playing. Say it softly, and it's almost like praying.... Brainnnnnsssss.
  • That would be "nattering nabob of negativity". *loathes and despises alliteration as cheap faux-poetic device, advises extreme caution in use unless username = gerard.manley.hopkins, or jems.choice* Incidentally, anyone planning a Bloomsday post? I can think of a couple of likely lads who might consider dobbing themselves in.

  • of course he's dead. he's a zombie now, right? Eh. They've resurrected so much of his policy, they might as well resurrect the body, too.
  • I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next guy who says, "Shenanigans." Stop laughing right meow.
  • Do I look like a cat to you boy? Am I jumpin' around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree? Am I drinking milk from a saucer? Do you see me eating mice???
  • This seems as good a place as any for another zombie link. I mean, what with all this brain-eating shenanigans. (-: *Runs and hides
  • *cleans coffee from computer* holy shit goetter don't do that.
  • Q: Why did Reagan-Zombie Cross the road? A: Braiiiiiins. Q: how many Reagan-Zombie does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: Braiiiiiins.
  • *decides to change his username after all*
  • From 4/22/02.
Ronald Reagan still not dead However, unable to wait in case he passes on suddenly, the Scripps-Howard news service has prepared 2-page and 12-page tributes for Reagan, online at a secret URL (found via MetaFilter). It's an unfortunate but safe bet that Reagan's public days are over, so there's not much risk in preparing tributes now.
  • It seems CNN also couldn't wait for Reagan to die.
Real News: Hey, I'm not dead YET! -CNN Fucks Up! Posted on Friday, April 18 @ 08:20:42 NEW YORK - CNN blamed human error Thursday for exposing obituary mock-ups that its Web site's designers had prepared for Ronald Reagan , Bob Hope? and other prominent figures.
  • So, is Bob Hope still dead?
  • Breaking News Bob Hope is still dead.
  • hmm....!!
  • Money Quote
Former Fed member Alan Blinder asks at a Boston Fed fiscal-policy conference, "Are we allowed to say anything bad about Reaganomics, or are we still in the mourning period?"
  • I'm just going to say this: "Well . . . " (You'll have to imagine my head tilting slightly in a kindly-old-folks, gosh-shucks, ruh-roh-Rhaggy kind of way)
