I've been thinking. Is Phil really like that, or is it an act? I searched through his website, and I'm down to two thoughts. Either:
A) He's a very intelligent schitzophrenic and the person interviewing him thinks it's a big joke.
or
B) He's one hell of an actor.

Phil is an offbeat vocalist. And clearly likes to perform.
Phil reminds me a bit of the late Joey Bishop who used to intone a ditty the lyrics of which went:
It looks like rain in Cherry Blossom Lane,
In Cherry Blossom Lane it looks like rain.
[repeat until they bring the hook.]
Always enjoyed Mr Bishop's performances.
