Music and taxes
Wondering what might be holding up the iTunes Music Store in coming to Canada? SOCAN, the country's music copyright collective, is seeking to tax the internet. It's bad enough they tax us for CDs already... but at least downloading is okay up here.

If these tariffs mean that it is legal for me to copy my own CDs, then I support it. I have heard that elsewhere, this is becoming illegal. I'm confused though - if the tariffs are so high, then why can I still buy 50 blank CDs for $20 in Toronto? Or even less, if I buy more.
-
I'll gladly pay an extra $0.25 per blank CD if that means the RIAA will go away.

So hey, Falconred, as I read these post listening to music on my iTunes, how did all that work out?
