Throw me in jail, spit in my face, kick my ass if you want, but Don't Call Me "Dude."
well. to my beau, "dude" is a compliment... as in, when a football player makes a great tackle, "that guy is such a dude."
Indeed. I use the words "dude", "man" and "buddy" almost constantly in my speech. To me, it's a term of respect, even veneration.
"I'm The Dude so that's what you call me...ya know, ah, that or his Dudeness or Duder or El Dudereno if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Olivares didn't dispute the charges. He just took issue with being called dude.
``He was calling me dude and laughing about it,'' Olivares said. ``I don't think Kern County needs that kind of leadership.''
This guy has some nerve. The Dude! abides. Small wonder he was called Dude and not regarded as a gentleman. Gentlemen don't drink and drive, Dude.
