The DSM 111 (1980) was indeed a turning point as psychiatry modelled itself on "hard science" to enhance their credibility as a " soft science". The biomedical model is promulgated by Big Pharma and everyone prospers except patients.
Excellent article. I have had many a rewarding conversation with psychotics. There is always a logic for those who listen.
