There is an Uncanny Valley - and this virtual Japanese pop star lives there.
There is no uncanny valley. There are only neurotic people.
you know I'm not going to be able to think about anything else now, right?
And one of my favorite webcomics (set hundreds of years in the future) just pointed out that it had "holographic pop stars" in a storyline ten years ago (before the artist learned how to draw), complete with the line "The trend was already established in the 21st Century"...

If only they had come up with something other than yet another Sailor Moon clone.
