Monstrous Beasts: 14 Bizarre Dinosaurs and Extinct Species
The ten foot tall Gigantopithecus would be the home town favorite, but that whorl shark with the buzz saw mouth wins for sheer wierdness!
I really really want someone to discover Moa living deep in a forest somewhere...
And on that note, the whorl shark and Dunkleosteus are why I hate swimming.
Kool link, Homs-baby!
There are tons of mythical tales of hunters spotting moa in the wilderness. Not as many as there used to be: I remember when I was little reading a book called "The Lost Tribe" in which moa and Maori still lived in an isolated pocket of Fiordland. And there's a pub in the mountains whose owner claims to have seen moa too.
Let's all hope it's true that the moa EXISTS.
Yes, Dan. If it doesn't exist, then there won't be any moa.
And I'll be going to hell for a really, really, ugly pun.
The moa is a bird-like thing
that may today exist.
The Maori might have seen them off,
but rumors still persist.
God knows that they were rescued
in the flood of Noah,
He saved you two; you ate them up;
you can't have any moa.
AAAAAAGGGGG!
*faints. falls over backward*
Moas in the news!
It's the moas own silly fault they're extinct-ed because they're fat and lazy!
And they're from South America anyway.
I read a great book about the geological prehistory of New Zealand a few years ago (Ghosts of Gondwana?) that explained how birds took the place of mammals in NZ. The moa is our equivalent of cows.
Mooa.
AAAAAAGGGGG!
*faints. falls over backward*
AGAIN!!
