i've spoken with chomsky a few times, fairly recently, for a story i was doing on the war. he's extraordinarily accessible, handles his own email, answered my query right away. off the record, he said he has to be cautious about what he says and how he says it because he realizes how many people pay such close attention to his ideas. perhaps that's why this has taken so long.
