Curious Complimentary George. What are some of your favourite MoFi comments? What did you think was funny and/or clever at the time, but you might not have said so?

We have some fairly witty people around here, and we don't always acknowledge that -- perhaps we should. Or perhaps we should leave well enough alone. (And no, I'm not fishing for compliments.) Think of this as a MoFi clip-show. I'll start with my favourite, an unacknowledged gem of kit's.

  • My all-time fave was a response to this mess from fly with a zinger from layne, lady layne.
  • I need also direct your attention to moneyjane's description of a FuBoMo.
  • Was it Lara who first said "It's a vagina, not a clown car!" re: Michelle Duggar?
  • *searches 'Lara, vagina'* Nope. Looks like EarWax.
  • Yeah, I just did the search, too. It's a preview button, not a clown car! (I'm sure Lara has fired off some zingers, though.)
  • And I'm still impressed by Pleg's handiwork, even if he bailed out early to be with his "wife and family", and wasn't up for the intercontinental drunkdialing of Koko.
  • And I'm still in awe of Quid's congratulation to mct and hbs.
  • OK, now someone else pick one.
  • My current favorite is from Tracy's blog, but I think it should still be included here. I give you all our resident hacker, tehdeadm and his explanation for why "Chuck Norris Has a Nigger Brother" is not racist. “the N-word” ? you mean nigger ? sorry man but i dont buy into that philosophy. Theres about 988,968 words in the english language and ill use anyone of them i choose. it just happened to fit. “Chuck Noris has a bigger brother” “Chuck Noris has a nigger brother” Now a racist person might see that statement as crude and take the political or social meaning of the word “nigger” as “black” or of “African heritage” this is wrong and you people that believe this only spread racism further. While i can guaranty that you wont find its original meaning anywhere online becuase racism has darked it so badly that it cant be seen anymore if you have a dictionary that was printed before the 1900s and you may beable to find some clips online but i doubt it i would goto a library to take a look. You will find that its original meaning was “A person of low or no education; Ignorant”. its like a person with homophobia would view “My friends and I had a gay time to day” as me and my friends did some homosexual things today. lol anyway now that we’ve cleared that up.
  • Okay, it wasn't actually clever or witty, but it was incredibly funny.
  • I have every comment cappy's ever made tattooed on my body. He better stop soon or there's gonna be some good readin' on the ole chocolate starfish.
  • Please don't respond, Captain. Please don't EVER respond.
  • This thread summary from quidnunc made me laugh and laugh.
  • deja vu.
  • This thread summary from quidnunc made me laugh and laugh. Ugh, the Berek fiasco. Why do I defend morons?
  • Enter A TURD Oh, the things I missed.
  • nunia, oh nunia... *misses nunia* Speaking of déjà vu... skirk's response to my earlier post was a classic move. I was so confused for a moment when that happened. Chy's clever first comment mirroring chimaera's comment from the other thread left me feeling violated in more than one way!
  • Can I mention this, though it's really the whole volume of beesy verse in that thread I cherish.
  • So many of beeswacky's gems
  • I can't even remember where I'm supposed to go when I leave the house in the morning, and you people want me to remember stuff you said three years ago?
  • Lara, the rest of these clowns never leave the house, they have time to remember this stuff....
  • I quite liked this one of roryk's, together with one of quid's where he answered the question of how one should refer to a Catholic priest with "the accused".
  • Ah, bees! in so many ways he was the best of us. And Nostrildamus and Chyren provideded some of the chaos which we needed. And Quid, Fes, nunia, and so many more who show up seldom if ever. But, on a more familiar note, I loved Christrophine's newspaper about our loss of history was really great.
  • Opps, - trying to cook dinner, deal with a rental refurb issue, and using html trashed my grammar.
  • And spelling.
  • Gah! That newspaper rox my sox. You gotta watch out for them rectal refurb issues.
  • hardwood or carpet, TUM?
  • As long as it's not a dirt floor.
  • My favorites? The ones that made me laugh today. Always a trove of amusement and enlightenment to be found on MoFi. Amazing talents have graced this site. Gratitude to all. I do miss the bees, though, and nunia, and Chyren, and others who've moved on, too numerous to mention...
  • path wrote: "...and so many more who show up seldom if ever." Hopefully many, like myself, still lurk. At least I'd like to think some of the old-timers are lurking. LURK MOAR
  • And Nostrildamus and Chyren provideded some of the chaos The sick fucks.
  • I think every one of you has made me either LOL or spit-take at one time or another. Trac has some great one-liners. My favorites? The ones that made me laugh today. Truer words were n'er spoke!
  • I think this comment I'm writing now will appear in the next "favorite comments" thread. I'm pretty sure, anyway.
  • I hear chyren is still around.
  • I hear Chyren is still a square! *runs off cackling, dives under blankets with box of Honey Nut Cheerios™*
  • Yes, I do believe Chy is around, but he's much less chaotic than he used to be. Well, most of the time.
  • That Hank... Doesn't he seem familiar to anyone?
  • Yeah...I think he used to post under the name Cock OH NO SHE DI'INT!!! Apologies to Hank.
  • Not many of us have been around long enough to remember our old friend Cock.
  • He was a real dick.
  • What Lara said! now where did I put my keys? is that my hat? didn't I have a bike parked round here once? You're all funny and/or clever. Short of remembering specific comments, joy is to be found in Pandacam, THE SHOUTING THREAD and of course Daisy May. Most eeked links. The entire screenplays of Bernockle, Fast Food Lawyer (as mentioned above) and all of TUM's accompanying illustrations on that and other themes. And basically everything beeswacky ever wrote. *sniff* You're all fab. Group hug!
  • Ah, TUM's Olde Tyme 'shoppery is always refreshing.
  • Remember people, look for TUM's Seal of Quality in your products, or you're not getting your ersatz worth! *applause*
  • I liked Fes' reaction to a Western US meetup.
  • MCT's reaction to a giant beetle makes me chortle.
