How a small town loses a bank.

For those of us in the banking industry, this is no campfire-story stuff, either. My bank just completed taking over a small town, possibly hurting bank. Even though I'm (relatively) anonymous here, I wouldn't discuss details, but this is not going to be isolated. This is going to get worse.

I want to work in horticulture.

you can lead a horticulture but...
sorry.

Wow. What a time to be in the bank industry - you have my sympathy (not that you necessarily WANT my sympathy but anyway...) All the best.

My dad's a banker and he banks all day.

Now here's a little story
I'll tell to you today
About an unsung hero
Who puts your money away
Some people make a fortune
Other's earn a mint
My old man don't earn much
In fact....he's flippin'.....skint

Oh, my old man's a banker
He wears a bowler hat
He wears pinstriped trousers
And he lives in a council flat

Deja vu 1930's, anyone?

my local credit union went under a while ago... same reason, Florida real estate...

the dow dumped 400 points today..

I've dumped one car... me and the wife are sharing now..I ride the bike when I can...

Boston Whaler, makers of one of the best boats in the world just closed down for a month, boats aren't selling..

GM closed four more truck/suv plants this week..
