Worst Album Covers EVAR - selected by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel (via FMH). Theys pretty dang ugly, alright. *spits* I reckon number 21 gets my vote. How's about yeew?

  • #2 is way too awesome to be bad.
  • #36 is creepy beyond all possible words. Jeebus.
  • Too bad they don't put up tracks for these. Who wouldn't want to hear #33, "Ali and His Gang vs. Tooth Decay"?
  • And just where the hell is Devastatin' Dave the Turntable Slave?
  • #27 has evidently had the bluebird of haffiness fly up his nose.
  • i'm liking #31... I think she was a substitute teacher when i was in junior high school
  • #22 is waaaay cool.
  • This site sucks... it won't navigate away from #1 no matter what I do, and it takes too long just to load one frame.
  • rpman - same thing happened to me in firefox. MSIE loaded it fine.
  • Same thing happened for me in FF until I disabled popup blocker.
  • I rather like number 8, though I expect the music doesn't live up to the sleeve. And I remember the Singing Postman (No. 43): seared into the memory of anyone who lived in the Anglia Television region in the 1960s. He even appears to have a kind of tribute act.

  • Slim Goodbody still gives me serious heebee jeebees.

  • #4 is brilliant. it's only bad if you're unfamiliar with the original
  • I'm citing #3 for excessive use of powder blue. #10 makes me flash back to second grade in parochial school, when they herded us all into the chapel to see He Restoreth My Soul. Strong stuff for a bunch of seven-year-olds.
  • Oh, also, is #1 what "The Simpsons" writers deliberately spoofed when naming the cassette single that Milhouse's dad recorded of same name, or is it just a coinkydink?
  • I'll bet Terry Riley is a bit bummed to see his album cover up there. One thing that sets him apart from from the rest of the gallery might be that he's one of the great masters of 20th century music.
  • Thou speakest the truth, KevvinSevvin. We're big Terry Riley fans in our household!
  • He still plays out a bunch and if you ever have the chance to go see him, especially a solo piano concert, absolutely do not miss it for anything. Next year's Carnegie Hall performance of In C should be one for the ages. I'm almost tempted to head across the country to hear it.
  • OK, I totally remember Slim Goodbody. He was on TV when I was a kid. And I think we had a copy of "Moscow Nights: Popular Russion Hits". Most of these take me back to my childhood. A lot are fashion victims of their times mostly.
  • I'm pretty sure #31 is, in fact, Tootsie. Amazing that Dustin Hoffman continued in that role long enough to record an album.
