Practicing self-control consumes real energy. [Via Mind Hacks.]
  • The vein throbbing in your left temple is a dead give-away your meter is running.
  • "Practicing self-control consumes real energy."... I'll never know....
  • Force, no matter how concealed, begets resistance.
  • Excellent, another excuse for eating yummy chocolate. Mmhh. Actually, like the article writer, I had established a routine that involved a bite (or two... or three... *cough*) of dark chocolate before seting down to work, specially on short-deadline jobs. Health-related diet changes have banned this, and now, sometimes, feel a lack of focus before work is perceptible. Maybe I should tak to the Dr.
  • I tried not to post a comment here but didn't have the energy. Sorry.
  • I was a bit puzzled by this study and article. I thought it was well-established that brain cells use more glucose than any other part of your body. So anything that makes your brain work hard will tend to burn a lot of glucose quickly.
