Historic squee as the Zoological Society of London puts its photo archives online.

Oops - Via. I search these obscure sources so you don't have to!

Wot this I see?
Historic Squee!
Do ye an archive
All 4 me?

Nice. I wish there were more of the old ones.

Look, I've got all I can do to keep up with/not explode from current squee. Don't go dragging this historical squee crap out, will ya'?

BABY TIGERRRR!

We've come to see the beasts today
And if to enter we must pay,
It costs no more to go away -
So let us stay.
And when the lion's cage we seek,
No fear shall blanch our British cheek,
And, if the noble beast could speak -
What would he say?
He'd say in well-known English staves,
He'd say Britannia rules the waves
And Britons never never will be slaves,

So, seeking for further amusement,
They paid and went into the Zoo,
Where they'd Lions and Tigers and Camels,
And old ale and sandwiches too.

There were one great big Lion called Wallace;
His nose were all covered with scars -
He lay in a somnolent posture,
With the side of his face on the bars...

Ma says "I feel down in the mouth like."
Pa says, "Aye, I bet Albert does, too."

Thanks fer them, mothy!

Ahh, that is teh old squee.

Meanwhile, I want a ride in a llama cart. Or the zebra wagon would do in a pinch.

Did anyone notice that the King Penguin and his Keeper were dressed nearly alike? Penguin keepers now-a-days don't have near that sense of style.

Good job, motheatenninja.

Albert's Return is wonderful, also.

And Pa says "I'll never trust lions
Again, not as long as I live."

Then giving young Albert a shilling,
He said "Pop off back to the Zoo.
"'Ere's yer stick with the 'orse's 'ead 'andle-
Go and see wot the Tigers can do!"

That was a real delight, Mothy!
