Primal (Wilhelm) Scream
youtube

The Wilhelm Scream was first recorded in 1951, and has since been reused innumerable times, becoming the most pervasive sound-cliche in Hollywood.

More sound cliches.

You get the Alan Smithee Award for fun FPP's. See also Fruit Cart.

That was really interesting. I never realized it, but (from second link) There really never ARE commercials on the radio, and the person will shut the radio off before the end of the scene.... hmm... Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

Fun fact: repeatedly playing the Wilhelm Scream #4 (third link) makes my dog very unhappy.

Fizzleding :(

I swear I heard this coming from the trunk of my car this morning.

Awesome post. I feel so... enlightened. From now on, when viewing a film, I'll be listening for the Wilhelm.
