Mummies
from the mysterious Chachapoyas culture, responsible for the gigantic fortress of Kuelap, have gone on show in Lima. There are many ruins and many mummies in the region, it seems, many of the latter unexplored.

Funny, last night I saw again this documentary about Munch's 'The Scream' and it mentions the possibility of an exhibition of peruvian mummies in Paris being one inspiration source. That first photo certainly helps the theory.

Wow, those pictures are gorgeous! Ascribing terror seems a bit like jumping the gun to me, though. Of course I'm no expert on the subject, and it's just as likely I'm completely wrong, but isn't it likely her jaw just fell open?
