LOTR quizzes from "The Thain's Book", an online LOTR encyclopaedia. My best score is a miserable 56.2%.
I have a similar batting average plegmund, though just managed a whopping 66.7% on the 'On the Town' one. Years since I read it, but just downloaded the old BBC radio version, so enjoying these.
I'm just now beginning to reread it, so I'll post my score when I'm done. Stay tuned, everyone.
I got 100 percent on Elves and Gods but haven't managed to score above 80 on anything else. Boooooo.
Best I could do so far was 53.3% on Durin's Folk.
I'm not game to try. I used to be a fount of knowledge on all things Tolkien but the brain has been leeched by time.
Never having read the books, I scored 20% on the 'places' quiz, just through sheer guesswork. Consider that your baseline.
Never having read the books...
!
Kill the heretic!!! /spittle
Neeeeeeeeeeeeerds!!!
Got 80% on Creatures, Great and Small.
You mean...
Some of these questions are based on JRR Tolkien's 'conjectural' margin notes that Christopher Tolkien assembled later. For instance, I don't think the two blue wizards are ever canonically named, just some hastily scribbled possiblity is given.
I got 86.7% on Colors and Creatures, 80% on Battles and much lower on the other ones I took.
100% concerning hobbits...I should really budget some time this December for something other than re-re-re-re-reading the LOTR.
This is so fantastically, baroquely dorky.
I *heart* it. ;)
Um, excuse me -- but I believe Ogre is in fact belching in that scene, which makes the exclamation "NERDS!" an inaccurate juxtaposition.
Worst ROTN reference EVER!
</comic book guy voice>
ROTN? ... as in, Rolling On The Nerd?
Revenge of the Nerds, bees. Revenge. And I don't know how I know that.
Thanks, Alnedra!
Heh! I am now a Master of Middle-earth! 100% (at least) in Colours!
=at last
I tried the color one and had to guess for every single question. I got 53%.
I can't tell if the test was hellza hard (because I had to guess on every question) or hellza easy (because I scored so high despite guessing for every question).
