50 Dark Movies, Hidden in a painting. Flash fun.
I'm currently on 20.
I hit 23 then I was stumped
33, but I think that might be about it for me, because I know where the other clues are, just no idea what they are.
40 here, but can't figure out: Rasputin-like man holding lantern, woman with two brawling children, two men (one appears slightly Native American) with backs to each other, basket-man weaving straw (not 'Basket Case')... Any help?
I had 21 after 14 minutes. But I did get the one you were asking about sly_polygot.
Currently a remake is in theatres, and the original is an English made cult classic (and in my opinion one of the best movies evah.)
Oof... shame on me! Thanks for the tip, kimdog. Got 3 more after that. Try this one: darkness. Just that. No, wait, the barest hint of an outline of some... small creature. Maybe they're just trying to freak us out. (It's working.)
33 and I'm out - although I've saved it so I'll be obsessive and go back. I can't get the ones sly_polyglot couldn't (except for basketcase).
The trick is to realise most are puns, rather than representing a scene or character from the movie.

No, I'm not going to give you a clickable link, I won't make it that easy for you.
Hmph. The two movies I guessed for the fish were far scarier than the one it turned out to be.
Hum. From the few that I got before I was interrupted and had to do real work again, I can say that the size of the clue has little to no bearing on the pop culture impact or quality of the film. Hence, the giant fish.
