Photos of the extremely rare, teardrop-shaped and streamlined, three wheeling 1934 Dymaxion designed by R. Buckminster Fuller and constructed by yacht maker Starling Burgess.

Semi-previously

  • The layout is similar to that of a Volkswagen Microbus, with the driver at the front, a general-purpose area in the middle and the motor (and the third wheel) to the rear. Three Dymaxions were built and were ultra-futuristic in their day. The Dymaxion (currently in Reno) was the second one built and is the only surviving model.
  • I thought I saw one at the "Moving Beauty" show in Montreal back in '95, but I think I'm confusing it with the 1914 Alfa 40-60 HP Aerodinamica.
  • I WANT! I WANT!
  • Dymaxion House *ding dong!*
  • I'm going to be iconoclastic and identify the elephant in the middle of the room. That is one ugly bicycle.
  • It looks kinda fragilistic. In a supercali way.
  • Thanks, really ace.
  • Also the man after whom buckyballs were named. Love him.
