Devo is Dev 2.0 ? Disney now has their own Devo. Has the joke gone too far?

I looked and I couldn't find this linked anywhere else on Monkeyfilter. Google searched and all, I promise!

  • *shudder* Next up, Persons Without Hats! Welcome, gorgeousjunkie.
  • I'd more impressed if Disney did a MDC 2.0
  • Wait, what's the joke?
  • This is simply SICK. AND. WRONG. An abomination. A stain on humanity. A moral lacking which cannot be bested in its sheer repugnance. Mind you, Disney has made an entire industry of collecting, cleaning, and repackaging culture -- but DEVO? Ye gods, man, DEVO?!? *looks for pitchfork, torch*
  • I mean, K-Tel's Mini Pops were one thing -- but to repackage DEVO wholesale, and cross-market with ads from Target -- Speechless. I'm just fucking speechless. DEVO, man.
  • It's a beautiful world It's a beautiful world For you For you For you It's not for me
  • You know, given that one of the originals is behind it, I find this delightfully twisted and, well, fitting. Devo sponsored by Disney? With dancing, pouting teens? If you really think about it, there just can't be anyhting more De-volved that that! Long live Spudboy!
  • It's Devo 1.0's own fault for wearing hats that made them look like Lego People. Disney was bound to think they'd make great toys.
  • We are not men. We are Devo. De Ee Ve Oo. Now enhanced with gurls! Yuck!
  • I wonder if any of the members were gleaned from here. They were doing a Devo show in Philly awhile ago.
