Shame On You, Sony After Criticism, Sony Issues Fix for Hidden Rootkits.
  • Not to be repetitive, as this is a recurring theme in many posts on this topic. Not a single Sony CD, DVD, or home electronic device shall I pay for again!! What a bunch of asswipes!
  • Your pagan lust for nu-metal pop and shiny, blinky things will draw you back into Sony's sharp metal maw . . .
  • And you know they only owned up to it 'cause they were caught. How many times do we have to go through this before these companies realize that there are enough people out there who a) have the capability to detect this stuff and b) won't put up with this crap?
  • We have signal -- damage control, gentlemen!
  • Yikes. No more Sony for me! Though who knows how many other companies may be doing something similar and just haven't been caught yet.
  • When will you people understand that corporations own our SOULS?
  • They may own my soul, but they'll never get the technicolour fantasyworld in my head! Well, unless they pay good...
  • Even though they rule your soul your conscience will be mine.
  • On a serious note, I remember reading that article a week ago and from what I recall, you had to install their player software to hear the music. My first thought was "well, that's what you get" for installing some nebulous player on your system. But on the other hand it's not exactly like you can get your money back if you don't like the content. So, yeah, fuck 'em.
  • It's Agreed then. FUCK THEM!!! Fuck the CONSPIRACY! Save Yourselves!
  • self link! self link! 10 minute penalty and 15 yards! *tweeeeee!*
  • is self linking verbotten in comments?
  • oh, and yeah... fuck sony!
  • well, no, but . . *kicks dirt on Zanshin's shoes*
  • I love how the SONY rootkit apparently neuters Warcrafts anti-cheat surveillance. Now I have to deal with cheaters AND agree to online-surveillance, as opposed to just one or the other.
  • Uncle-fuckers.
  • Good job, Sony... ye dumb shits.
  • How do you know if a CD is from SONY? Like flip it over and read the back? Most people won't, ya know. And thus another piece of corporate hegemony takes wing. Maybe this one crashed on takeoff, but you know they won't give up. Oh, and by the way SONY, thanks for making my mind up about switching completely to linux.
  • If you put a CD in your computer and get prompted with a EULA, it's bad.
  • HA! It was only a matter of time. Hopefully Sony is as fUX0r3d now as I think they are.
  • Review: Six Rootkit Detectors Grab yer favorite, clear out that s@#%.
  • Whoops! Heh, scratch that - reverse it.
